Stickers + Kids = always a winner.

Connor is just a few weeks from being two and he has had a love affair with stickers since before he could walk. I use to actually stock up on those huge promotional stickers people would give out at fairs and vendors would send me from their products. Then keep a small stack of them in my diaper bag as instant entertainment when we were having a crabby moment at a restaurant. Speaking of which seeing as we are officially in the awful terrible twos I may need to start doing that again.

We don't need huge stickers anymore seeing as Connor has much better control of his fine motor skills these days and the Usborne Sticker books over at Blooming-Babies are just the thing to keep Connor occupied while we have to wait virtually anywhere. You know I have to be honest with you guys anytime I hear "sticker book, or activity book" I cringe as you spend $6-10 on these things and after your child is done scribbling/stickering on all the pages its virtually trash. Well let me tell you I was totally excited when I realized that the Usborne Sticker books are actually.. well.. books, that just happen to come with stickers. Connor has several sticker books and though he is still a bit too young to be allowed to go hog wild with the stickers we ration them out here and there. He especially loves matching up his dog stickers to the correct breed of dog in the Dogs Sticker Book. Now If I can only get him to stop asking "What's that?" to every single dog in the book. Mind you he knows what a dog is I think he is just memorized by the fact that dogs can looks so different between breeds.

If you have a family vacation planned and I know oh so many of us plan on driving this year vrs flying let me tell you these books will be a total lifesaver on a long car trip, or even flying on an airplane. It's a quiet activity that will keep them busy for quite some time as there are a TON of stickers included with each book. The Animal Sticker Atlas has 200 stickers. So this is not a project they will finish in a few minutes. Not to mention once they are done they can read the story or even read about the animals in the Animal Sticker Atlas. Then once your home the book can claim its rightful place on your bookshelf to be enjoyed later!

Don't tell Connor but I stole his Chihuahua sticker from his Dogs Sticker Book for my school notebook. I'm not sure I ever grew out of my sticker obsession. heh.
