I won't tell a lie, I won't tell a lie...

If my nose grew every single time I told a little white lie when I was a kid I would be very very unattractive by now. heh. It's not so much I was a bad kid and told lies but I more sort of puffed up stories as we moved a lot as a kid and almost every year I was in a new school so telling tall tales just sort of became a crutch. These days most of the little white lies I end up telling are "mommy facts" or little distractions for Connor as to why we can't go outside RIGHT now, or why he can't have the fifth cookie before 9am. Otherwise the only tall tales I tell these days are about how many times I changed a diaper in one day or if I actually showered before noon.

My favorite little wooden boy has finally been released on bluray and Pinocchio is ready for a whole new generation. I'm not sure I have to explain Pinocchio to most of you. Pinocchio is the wooden puppet creation of a lonely puppet maker. After making his beloved puppet Pinocchio, the toy maker Gepetto, makes a wish that his boy puppet will become a real boy. This is Disney and anything can happen, needless to say Pinocchio does become a "live" puppet but he is not quite a real boy flesh and blood, though he longs to be with all his little wooden heart. I remember watching Pinocchio hundreds of time when I was a little girl and I still love it as much today. It's just one of those movies that is a beloved classic if your 60, 30, 10, or 5.

Seeing Pinocchio in bluray stirs up all those old memories. The only thing you may notice about watching Pinocchio on bluray is the "frame" around the picture. Pinocchio was only made in a full screen sort of boxy format. When I say you won't notice believe me as the colors of the movie will distract you within seconds from the bands on either side of the film. I have to say its films like Pinocchio that make me wish a little deep down that CGI was never invented. The hand painted painstakingly created scenes are just extraordinary and an art form you just never see anymore and that's truly and completely a shame. Pinocchio is beautiful and in its new bluray format you children of Connor's generation will appreciate and love the story as much as we did growing up.

The bluray extras are always the highlight of my Disney bluray experience if you ask me. You can choose to have your movie "framed" if you want to nix the black bars beside the film, there is an alternate ending, deleted scenes and songs, puzzle, trivia games, and arcade. There is just so many extras its really hard to talk about them all.

The bluray release of Pinocchio is available right now and you can pick yours up on bluray dvd right now on Amazon! Keep in mind if you do not yet have bluray but intend to in the future the special edition copy of Pinocchio includes a standard dvd as well so you can view your copy on your standard dvd player and when you upgrade to bluray you will have that copy as well!

I have one copy of Pinocchio to give away to my readers!!

Cinderella is a classic, but I love Aladdin because as a little girl my sister and I would pretend to be Jasmine and Aladdin flying on a magic carpet (one of my mother's rugs) and would sing "A Whole New World" and we knew every line to that movie. I love it because of the memories that were created because of it. Thanks for the great giveaway sallyanne03@gmail.com
