My favorite My Little Pony of all time, Minty, is back this Christmas for a fabulous new Holiday Special. Minty was actually supposedly discontinued in the toy line from last I heard so I was pretty darn surprised to see her appear in a new DVD release. It gets my hopes up that possibly, just maybe they may have a change of heart and still continue to release her at least at the holidays.
Did any of the other My Little Ponys fans notice something really odd about Minty? Umm... *scratching head* She's got pink hair now... and ummm... her Clovers are gone!??! I have this sneaking suspicion that Minty was not discontinued at all but instead that this movie was meant to reintroduce her to us as Minty the Christmas pony. Ok enough about Minty.
A Very Minty Christmas opens when Minty accidentally breaks the beloved Christmas Candy Cane beacon that shows Santa how to get to Ponyville. Totally freaked out that she has ruined Christmas for all of the other ponies and is determined to save Christmas as she thinks her other pony friends are going to be mad. Turns out ponies are pretty good friends as they are just as determined to make sure Minty cheers up. When Minty decides to personally go visit Santa to clear up the mess they all go after here to help!
I wish I had friends that would follow me to the North Pole just to make me feel better, how wonderful would that be!? Instead my friends rearrange my lawn furniture.... heh.

I have to admit I just look at them as ponies so I had to go ask my oldest daughter. She had a couple of these (of course she's too old to play with them now she says, they're all for her little sister). One of her favorites was Cotton Candy.

I don't know any of the My Little Pony's names. Even though I have three children all under the age of three, I am an older mom (39) and so I came of age BEFORE the Ponies became popular. My kids have seen promos for this movie on their other DVDs however, and would be thrilled to have this.

I'm not sure what her name is but I loved the one with the ice cream cone picture on her butt. That one was my favorite from when I was a little girl....although at one point I got a mini pony with the wings...it was the kind that had a little button you could push on it's back to make the wings flutter...that was a sweet one too! I worked as a nanny before my son was born and the little girl I took care of LOVED minty...it was a blast from the past!
