With claims of being the next coming of Napoleon Dynamite, Foot Fist Way left me feeling uneasy like I had just watched a high speed train speeding directly towards a small adorable animal.
It opens with the story of Fred Simmons this sort of washed up white trash martial arts instructor who's bimbo wife ended up doing a little extra credit work with her new boss. ahem. Nearing the ends of having a personal breakdown the moments of awkwardness that follows is painful to watch as he spirals downward. I almost turned the DVD off as it was just too much, and watching him attempt to hit on one of his students made me feel a little dirty like when one of those ugly old hairy dudes hits on you at the bar.
The movie starts to pick up after Fred's hero agrees to do a demo at his school. He gets caught up with preparing for it that he starts to forget his troubles and even sells his beloved car to pay for the demo. When "Chuck" arrives though things go from bad to worst when Fred comes home to find Chuck making himself a little too much at home with his wife. The boys of course decide to take it outside and when Fred wakes up on the side of the road bruised and battered I just couldn't keep watching.
Sure there are some moments that are really funny but only if you actually like laughing at other people's pain.

My favorite comedy so far in 2008 is the movie "Baby Mama". I can't wait to see if Foot Fist is as funny as Baby Mama.
Well I have not heard much about this one. I would like to win a copy and see for myself. It does look kind of quirky which is right up my alley. I won't blame you for sending a dud if I don't like it! :)

Death at a Funeral was the funniest thing I saw this year!
Definitely Juno, though I think that it also falls under the drama category. I like that it was both, and it's probably WHY I liked it so much!!
