Spppooookky!

Its not quite October yet but its never too early to start getting into the Halloween mood by watching spooky movies!

I don't think are many kids left that don't know exactly who R.L. Stine is or at least have heard of Goosebumps. I've read several of the books but up till now I have never seen any of the shows.

Goosebumps Horrorland is Goosebump's latest chapter in the kid friendly spooky series. Kind of cheezy horror it may be mildly scary for children seven and older but it actually may be a bit too scary for the younger set.

The first DVD in the series Goosebumps : One Day at Horrorland includes two episodes, the first of which One Day At Horrorland follows a family who gets lost and finds themselves unfortunately at Horroland. Horrorland reminds me a bit of a creepy carnival with several scenes that involve some creepy masks. The second show on the dvd Welcome to Camp Nightmare is the standard cooky summer camp gone wrong story minus the "Jason weirdo in a mask" heh.

The second DVD Monster Blood includes four icky slimy eye popping monster episodes that are one part creature from the black lagoon, one apart Nickelodeon slime fest. Most of the episodes on the DVD are at most only mildly scary, but the one that sticks out to me is the last one The Girl Who Cried Monster as the monster in the movie Mortman as the "monster face" Mortman possessed reminds me a bit of what I envisioned happening to you if your face to stuck, like my mother always told me, if you made a nasty face.

The last of the three A Night at Terror Towerr only includes two episodes but they are by far my favorite from the series, killer kid eating plants, medieval prisons, time travel, creepy things in the basement. It has all the elements of classic ghost stories and I have to admit I'm a sucker for anything involving creepy medieval stories.

Goosebumps One Day at Horrorland, Monster Blood, and A Night at Terror Tower are available on DVD at Amazon!
