Need a little love?

I was so stinking excited about seeing Mike Myer's new movie the Love Guru! I'm not sure that I have ever been disappointed in a Mike Myer's film, Waynes World, Austin Powers, Shrek, all movies in my home collection all some of my favorites. Combine Mike Myers with Justin Timberlake playing a big mustache, fro wearing, slightly wacko hockey player, come on.. you know you want to see that. Plus Justin Timerblake wears a speedo throughout most of the movie which would be exciting in its own right but I hate to say it the mustache is a huge turn off.

The Love Guru, aka Guru Pitka starts off as a very weird looking awkward boy who wants to become a guru so he can get the attention of girls. The scene of Mike Meyers as a teenager just about had me falling out of my chair. Mike Myers head on this scrawny little body is too funny for words. Not to mention the scene where Justin Timberlake's character is singing to Celene Dion music. Both totally priceless scenes your sure to be talking about for years to come. Guru Pitka is called upon by a Canadian hockey team to help get their star player back with his wife who after getting pissed off at him ends up in the arms of the rival team's star goalie, Justin Timberlake's character.

The humor in the Love Guru is pretty typical of the last Austin Powers movie, tons of celeberity spots, goofy sex one liners, and of course little people jokes. I loved it, but at times I felt a little like it relied a little too heavily on the all star cast. I also wish we would have seen much much more of Justin Timberlake in that speedo. heh.

Overall it was a great movie, but if you tried to compare it to the first or second Austin Powers you will be left feeling as if it was a bit light on plot. Still its still the perfect and fun movie night feature and though there are some sexual references I still feel its safe for the kids.
