Meet some words!

Meet the Sight Words collections of DVDs is a new approach in teaching children basic word recognition!

It's exactly what it sounds to be.. a method of teaching basic english words through sight. Sight words are the small words that are really the building blocks of our language that as adults we take for granted. Such as : I, of, it, he, you, in, to, a, is, the... ect. If you combine them with other small sight words you get small sentences such as "I play""you have" which may seem like broken english to you but it may just be your child's first written simple sentence.

Meet the Sight Words teaches these simple words in a way I have never seen before. Its totally animated and the words start off as animated characters and turn into the words. It's basically a way to get a child's attention then show them the word you really want them to see. It's quite frankly brilliant. Even Connor loves to stare at the words and though I don't expect him to be writing small sentences yet it may just be our first building block to doing so!

Meet the Sight Words collection comes in three DVDs which build on each other or can be used separately. They teach about 15 words each which means if you really dedicated a bit of your time each week to the DVDs your child could potentially learn 45 words before kindergarten even starts! Sign me up for the other DVDs please!

Meet the Sight Words is available on Amazon!

I actually have a 14 year old who would benefit from these DVDs. He had 5 strokes when he was 2-1/2 years old, and he has had speech problems since then. He doesn't "get" phonics, so maybe seeing something visually would help him out.

I also have an almost 21 month old who would benefit from these. He doesn't say much yet, so this would be a fun way for him to start learning to form words.

Thanks!
Angie

My son is now almost 2½. My daughter is 6 months.
My son loves books, and already knows some of the alphabet. He makes me read to him all day long.
As a teacher, I know how important it is to be able to read sight words. It could be quite challenging for some children, and I'm sure this would make a big difference.
My children would definitely gain from this!

I think that my God-son would benefit from this the most. He's not yet in Kindergarden yet he loves to "read!" He's obviously very interested in books and in language, and I feel that it's so important to nuture this curiosity. This product sounds like such a wonderful way to do just that!!! Plus, he just had TWO new sisters join his family as his mommy just had twin baby girls! He would be able to watch these DVD's with or without a parent so he would still be learning even if his mom and dad are busy with his sisters!!

Thanks!
